Day 06- Flame
The way fire devours a body is fascinating in the most macabre sense of the word possible. The smell is revolting, but after a dozen corpses Dean got used to it. His experience is more in the practice of torching and his usual victims are a little less…well, juicy. He watches what was once his father break off and disappear. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. It’s not torching. It feels wrong to put it in that same category, like John was just some monster that they had to stop.
There are things that should be said. Dean doesn’t say them. Next to him, Sam cries unabashedly but Dean’s already gone beyond tears.
“Did he say anything to you?” Sam asks, and he sounds like he’s been drowned. “About anything?”
The flames wrap around the body before they pierce through it. It’s like a big blanket of fire flying toward the sky. John slowly turns black and shrivels into gray bones.
